Peter Ford sparked the concern of Sunrise co-host Matt ‘Shirvo’ Shirvington on Monday.
‘I feel as stupid as I look, Shirvo,’ the showbiz reporter said, pointing to the large black eyepatch before adding, ‘So please ignore that.’
Shirvington then thanked Ford for ‘turning up’ as he battled his eye issue.
As Ford finished his segment, Shirvington asked the veteran for a health update.
‘It will be fine in time, thank you,’ Ford said.
Shirvington then joked he liked the eyepatch look.

Ford later appeared on The Morning Show and shared a screenshot of his segment with hosts Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies on his X profile.
He accompanied his post with a humorous caption referencing Blofeld, a James Bond villain known for a large scar on one eye.
‘I had the choice of looking quite ridiculous on The Morning Show or like Blofeld from the Bond movies. Blofeld lost,’ he said.
Ford also confirmed that his eye issue did not require surgery after one person on his thread asked about the eyepatch.
‘I’m fine. I’m just ugly,’ he joked.
It comes after one of Ford’s Sunrise co-stars recently shared a wild moment from early in her career.
Katie Brown told how she accidentally inhaled cannabis smoke on live TV during her years as a junior reporter with Nine.
The Seven presenter, 34, shared a throwback video of the incident on Instagram on Thursday, showing her younger self standing near a pile of marijuana plants.
Ford reassured viewers that his eyepatch was only temporary
A fire blazed in the cannabis behind her, with smoke rising into the air as Katie reported that police were disposing of the plants following an earlier drug raid.
However, a stroke of bad luck hit as the wind suddenly changed and blew the marijuana smoke straight into Katie’s face during the live cross.
Crew members behind the scenes could be heard laughing as Katie bent over coughing.
‘POV: you’re a junior reporter covering a marijuana raid and the wind changes,’ wrote Katie, who began her career with Nine before moving to Seven.
Katie, a former 7NEWS Queensland sports reporter, joined the Sunrise team in 2023.
