The Miners Foundry Cultural Center is pleased to present the Foundry Sings: ‘No Biz Like Show Biz!’, on Wednesday, August 19. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and singing begins at 6 p.m.
Join friends, family, and neighbors as we come together through a shared love of singing. The historic Stone Hall will fill with voices as the audience sings classic favorites from Broadway and the big screen!
Music Director Rod Baggett, with vocal assistance from Robbie Merchant and Heather Grove and accompaniment from Jonathan Meredith and Tim Yamauchi, will lead the audience through an exciting selection of beloved songs.
The program will feature music from classic musicals such as Grease, The Sound of Music, Fiddler on the Roof, Man of La Mancha, and West Side Story, alongside contemporary favorites from Rent, Mamma Mia!, and The Lion King. The evening will also include songs from movie musicals such as The Greatest Showman, La La Land, and Barbie.
No auditions, rehearsals, or singing experience are required. Foundry Sings welcomes people of all ages and singing levels to lift their voices, revisit familiar favorites, and experience the joy of singing together.
The Foundry Sings is inspired by the popular Choir! Choir! Choir!, a Toronto-based drop-in singing event that has welcomed musicians including Patti Smith, David Byrne, and Rufus Wainwright and has grown to major events around the world with participants numbering in the thousands.
