If you are cheering for draft position, that was the perfect game. The Tennessee Titans played their best offensive game of the season in their 43-36 overtime loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Cam Ward also played the best game of his career, throwing for 304 yards and two touchdowns. That was the first 300-yard game of his career.
The offensive series in overtime was an absolute disaster. I’ve been willing to give Brian Daboll the benefit of the doubt because he has a track record of being a very good offensive coach. The benefit of the doubt time is over. He called a terrible play to end the first half with Cam Ward on a designed run instead of just taking a knee. He called a draw when they were backed up in their own end zone that resulted in a safety. Then, there was the series in overtime that was just disorganized all the way around.
The defense was just as bad as you would expect the defense to be without Jeffery Simmons. They allowed Joe Burrow to throw for 462 yards. He had 5 passing touchdowns and a rushing touchdown. On the bright side, Amani Hooker had three interceptions, and Jacob Martin had three sacks.
