Several Kapuso stars joined the first ever Sparkle Run!
The fun run held at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila on Saturday featured appearances of Alden Richards, David Licauco and Barbie Forteza who ran in the 10km category as well as Kristoffer Martin who raced for the 16km run, among others.
During the opening ceremony, Alden expressed gratitude to those who joined the fun event.
“Maraming maraming salamat rin for supporting our first ever Sparkle Run for today’s event,” Alden said.
“So good luck sa ating lahat and I’ll see you at the finish line,” he added.
Aside from the Kapuso celebrities, the run was also composed of 6,000 participants across six distance categories.
The fun run started at 3:00 a.m. for the 16km category at the Quirino Grandstand and traversed into several key places in Manila such as Roxas Boulevard, Rizal Park, Intramuros, Jones Bridge, and Binondo.
Finishers were also given medals, singlet, bib, loot bags and t-shirts.
Participants were also treated by live performances by Paul Salas, Garrett Bolden, Cloud 7, Dollipop, and Vianna Ricafranca. —KG, GMA News
