Berkeley County auto-pedestrian crash leaves 1 dead

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) — The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly auto-pedestrian crash that happened Monday evening.

Master Trooper Brandon Bolt said the crash took place shortly after 6:35 p.m. at Jedburg and Strathmore Roads.

A 2009 Nissan Sentra was traveling west on Jedburg Road. A pedestrian was standing on the roadway, causing the Nissan to strike them.

The pedestrian sustained fatal injuries.

The driver of the Nissan was alone in the car and was not hurt.

The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the name of the victim.
