Charli D’Amelio finally spoke about the rumors of a rift between her and her parents.

In The Hollywood Reporter’s “Creators Issue,” the now-22-year-old spoke about the ongoing internet speculation that arose earlier this past May when the gossip blog DeuxMoi uploaded a post alleging that her parents, Marc and Heidi D’Amelio, transferred millions of dollars out of accounts that were set up for her during the peak of her viral fame.

In the conversation with Nancy Jo Sales – the author of the Vanity Fair article about Alexis Neiers that served as the basis for the 2013 movie “The Bling Ring” – Charli was asked whether the rumors swirling online were true, given that she and her parents no longer follow each other on Instagram.

“No, they’re not true. I wouldn’t say that they stole my money,” the TikTok star replied before taking a long pause and adding, “I think we did a lot of things as a family.”

Rumors have swirled about her relationship with her older sister, Dixie, after internet sleuths discovered they no longer followed each other on Instagram. When asked about where things stand with her sister, Charli said, “I mean, that’s my sister. I’m going to love her till the day I die. But there are times where you’re figuring stuff out.”

Dixie was confronted by a paparazzo about the online rumors of a rift between her and her sister in September while she was out with friends in New York City. She stayed quiet and said she didn’t know about any of the discourse taking place on the internet.

Back in May, D’Amelio’s father commented on the DeuxMoi post, “This is not true. We love Charli, but she is being manipulated, and I have the receipts.” He continued, “Over the last six years we have remained silent and never addressed gossip, but the time has come to set the record straight.”

At the same time, Marc went on TikTok live to share his side of the story. “She hasn’t reached out to me in some time. She’s mad at me for something,” the D’Amelio patriarch said at the time. “I gave my daughters everything I thought they wanted and needed. And now you’ve got a bunch of team [members] around them that think they know what’s best for Charli, and I have all the receipts. The problem is, what am I going to do? If I sue someone, what’s that going to do? Drag my family into a lawsuit?”

Marc also added that he and Charli only communicated through lawyers. “We’re destroyed, man. We’re freaking devastated,” he said on the livestream. “We want Charli back. We love her.”

USA TODAY reached out to the D’Amelios’ representatives at the time but did not hear back.

In June, People reported that Charli cut ties with the family popcorn brand, Be Happy Snacks, while both of her parents stayed on the project. Months later, as a guest on Quenlin Blackwell’s YouTube show “Feeding Starving Influencers,” Charli seemingly joked about the rumors when she was asked how much money she made from an old piece of merch she sold. “Mmm, ain’t that the question,” the TikTok joked as she laughed, adding, “Wouldn’t I like to know.”
