On June 23, Denver Fashion Week (DFW) will partner with Denver Arts & Venues’ popular Sunset Cinema series for a special outdoor runway event inspired by the cult-classic science fiction film The Fifth Element. Taking place before the free movie screening at Sculpture Park, the immersive fashion showcase will transport guests into a world of intergalactic style, avant-garde creativity, and cinematic nostalgia.
Recognized by Forbes as a trusted alternative to New York for emerging talent and featured by ELLE Magazine, Denver Fashion Week has become one of the nation’s fastest-growing fashion platforms. The event is known for spotlighting innovative designers, local boutiques, beauty artists and models while championing sustainability, inclusivity and creative expression throughout the Rocky Mountain region.
Guests are encouraged to arrive early for the sci-fi-themed runway presentation beginning at 6:30 p.m., where fashion and fantasy will take center stage ahead of the evening’s screening of Luc Besson’s 1997 cult favorite, The Fifth Element.
The film follows former special agent Korben Dallas and the mysterious Leeloo as they race to save Earth from a devastating cosmic threat. Nearly three decades after its release, the movie remains a beloved visual masterpiece celebrated for its unforgettable costumes, futuristic world-building and iconic characters.
As part of the Sunset Cinema experience, attendees are encouraged to dress in themed attire inspired by the film, bring blankets and lawn chairs, and enjoy an evening under the stars with friends and family.
