If you’ve driven or taken a walk down South Fourth Street, you may have noticed the large Eighth Notes placed on the sidewalk. These notes were placed there by the Louisville Downtown Partnership. Deputy Director of the Louisville Downtown Partnership, Jessica Wethington, told us these are all here to make you feel a little better about downtown.”It just brings joy. It brings smiles on the faces of passersby, and it’s fun you can interact,” Wethington said.Each of the four statues has a crank attached that, once turned, plays a portion of a song from a musical artist with connections to Kentucky. Some of the artists featured are My Morning Jacket and Joan Osborne.According to Wethington, the placement of these installations was no accident.”You’ve got different venues on South 4th Street that are bringing live music, live plays, the arts,” Wethington said. “So, when people come down and see them, they can crank them, they can have a lot of fun.”
