BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — A robbery at a Nampa fast-food restaurant set off an investigation that led to the arrests of two men now jailed on multiple burglary and theft-related charges across Ada and Canyon counties.
On July 8, 2026, at about 2:04 p.m., Nampa dispatch received a call reporting a robbery that had just occurred at a fast-food restaurant in the 16000 block of N. Marketplace Blvd. Officers and investigators spoke with witnesses who said an adult man entered the business wearing a motorcycle helmet and dark clothing, stole the cash register till, and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Witnesses reported the suspect got into the passenger seat of a maroon pickup driven by another man, and the two left the area, according to Nampa Police. Investigators identified the maroon pickup as recently reported stolen in Canyon County.
After interviewing witnesses and reviewing camera footage, detectives identified the robbery suspect as Aaron David Child, a 19-year-old from Boise. Detectives also identified the driver as Ammon Jayce Henderson, a 20-year-old from Middleton and a former employee of the restaurant that was robbed.
On July 11, 2026, Boise police located Henderson near a fast-food restaurant in the 100 block of N. Milwaukee St. in Boise, where he was in possession of a stolen motorcycle. He was taken into custody without incident.
On July 15, 2026, Nampa detectives located the stolen maroon pickup used in the Nampa robbery, along with a stolen trailer, in the Robie Creek area of Boise County. Also on July 15, 2026, Child was located in Ada County and taken into custody without incident.
Both Henderson and Child are being held in the Ada County Jail on charges related to burglaries and thefts in both Ada and Canyon counties. Robbery charges related to the Nampa incident are forthcoming, according to Nampa Police.
