US president Donald Trump was told to “go f*** himself” after he lost it at a female reporter on the lawn of the White House. Trump was being quizzed on the expansion of the ballroom on the property, admitting he had “doubled the size” of the project – but when MS NOW reporter Akayla Gardner assumed that meant double the cost, Trump lost it live on camera.
He fumed: “I doubled the size of it, you dumb person. Double the size. You are not a smart person. Right over here, wait a minute… based on a lot of things that have happened over the last year, we doubled the size of the ballroom, so we’re going to have a ballroom that’s appropriate for the White House. We doubled the size. The ballroom now is ahead of schedule and it’s a little bit under budget, depending on the finishes that we do.”
He fumed on air: “‘You dumb person.’ I mean, A) how many lies did he just cram in there – ‘under budget’, ‘I had to double it’ – no choice, sorry America!
“I know I’ve said this before, but when is a reporter going to snap back and say, ‘Don’t you f***ing talk to me that way, I’m a goddamned adult. I’m here working. You work for us, a*****e. We’re the ones who elected you, you’re being paid by us. Go f*** yourself.’
“Somebody, for the love of God! I will buy the Pulitzer for you if you will just tell this man, ‘How f***ing dare you, do not talk to me that way’.”
Social media users were divided, however, with some arguing the male journalists should help stand up to Trump when he blasts female reporters.
One wrote: “When will men stand up for women?”
Another said: “No reporter has ever spoken to a president the way you’re suggesting. But that’s mostly because no reporter has ever had to.”
“People, you have to understand. They’re making a living just like you and me. They have mortgages and families. They can’t just tell the president to f*** off and keep their jobs,” someone else pointed out.
