Turkey Removes Crypto Tax Clause, Previously Proposed 0.3% Transaction Tax

According to Hurriyet Daily News, Turkey’s parliament removed cryptocurrency-related tax provisions from a comprehensive bill during its deliberation process. The original provisions had proposed imposing a 0.3% transaction tax on cryptocurrency transactions conducted through service providers, as well as withholding tax on cryptocurrency gains. This revision followed strong opposition from the opposition parties. Officials indicated that these provisions may be reintroduced in the future as a standalone piece of legislation.
