Where’s Eugene on list of most underrated U.S. travel destinations?

When the weather warms, the travel bug bites. 

But Eugeneans needn’t go far for fun excursions, as they are already located in one of the most underrated towns to travel to.

That’s according to travel search engine Kayak’s 2026 What The Future report, which found that travelers this year are trending toward booking short, weekend stays in smaller towns. Eugene ranked eighth among college towns considered underrated travel destinations in the U.S.
