AMESBURY, Mass. – The Boston University women’s ice hockey team set a program record with 21 student-athletes being named to the 2025-26 Hockey East All-Academic Team.

The 21 record-setting student-athletes beat BU’s previous record of 19 which it achieved the last two seasons. Student-athletes needed to achieve a grade point average of 3.0 or better in each of the two semesters they competed in during the 2025-26 season to qualify. This marks the 12th straight year that at least 10 Terriers earned a spot on the team. In each of the last 11 seasons, BU has earned at least 14 spots on the squad.

Senior Lilli Welcke secured Distinguished Scholar status after earning a 3.0 GPA in each semester over the course of four seasons.

Seniors Maeve Kelly and Luisa Welcke and junior Mari Pietersen all became three-time honorees. BU’s two-time honorees included seniors Maeve Carey and Sydney Healey and sophomores Tessa Demain, Keira Healey and Lola Reid. Junior Ella Belfry was recognized as a top scholar-athlete with one of the highest GPAs in Hockey East.
