Broome and Tioga counties are asking residents to attend a virtual meeting on March 25 to introduce a new collaborative effort to create an Arts and Culture Strategic Master Plan.
The Master Plan will attempt to create a combined vision for culture, arts and creative expression across the neighboring counties by highlighting the region’s diversity. The virtual session will run from noon to 1 p.m.
Conversations will include local stakeholders in areas of art, cultural and historic preservation organizations, businesses, regional and local institutions and municipal entities to maximize the economic and community impact.
During the meeting, the project team will discuss details about the Master Plan, review the arts and culture asset inventory and also collect feedback from those in attendance. As part of the initiative, the 2009 Susquehanna Heritage Area Management Plan will be updated.
How to register for the public engagement session:
Interested participants can visit artsculturebroometioga.com/get-involved to register for the virtual session.
What’s next after the virtual meeting?
Two in-person listening sessions will be held in April to share information that has been collected so far in the Master Plan’s development process and gain more feedback. Both sessions are open to the public and will involve group discussions and interactive activities.
The listening sessions are an opportunity for the public to talk about the challenges and untapped potential within the arts, culture and heritage in both counties.
The information covered will be the same in each session.

Address: 30 Front St., Binghamton
When: April 29, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
